Robokiller is one of the leading spam and robocall blocking apps out there. My job was to lead the SEO content team and come up with a comprehensive content strategy to boost our organic traffic and online presence.
Objectives
The primary goal was to increase Robokiller's visibility in search results and establish a new organic user acquisition channel. Ultimately we tackled this challenge by following two different approaches:
Improve the search visibility of a free customer acquisition hook, Robokiller Lookup, that aimed to introduce net new audiences to Robokiller who are using search engines to check if a call or text they received is/is not spam.
Revamp the existing but highly neglected Robokiller blog, creating new and relevant content pieces, auditing & updating old articles, identifying keyword gaps and industry trends, streamlining designs, and implementing a well-planned and thought out link management system.
As always with SEO, consistency is key to drive traffic, installs, and revenue while enhancing conversion rates.
Key Results
Our efforts paid off significantly:
Within the first three months, we increased organic website traffic by over 150,000 unique pageviews per month, improving our domain authority by 30%.
For the Robokiller Lookup page, we saw +15,000,000 incremental organic search impressions within six months, leading to a 45% improvement in domain authority.
Ultimately, these strategies resulted in a twofold increase in organic revenue within eight months.
